A report in the Sunday Times: Business Day, shows Corporate Governance analysts believe that South African shareholders and fund managers are passive on issues that may concern them, as so little information is released by companies following their AGM’s. This is in stark contrast to the requirement of companies in other countries.
At present in South Africa, there is no requirement to disclose details relating to AGMs.
